REACH Student Publication

Kim Good spent 10 years in broadcast media as a reporter, photojournalist and news anchor. She left the world of Journalism to pursue a degree in Education and has not looked back. Now she's on a mission to equip her students with the tools to becoming a well-rounded journalist in today's world of fake news, social media, and the "cancel culture" era. Kim continues to use her voice and editing skills as a voice over artist from her home studio.

I'm a TEACH-NW student in 8th grade, and I really enjoy most types of writing. I want to major in law or computer science and would like to become a lawyer when I'm an adult. Currently, my hobbies are writing, computer science, and chess. I want to use this journalism opportunity as a stepping stone to get better at writing, with hopes of someday publishing a book. 

I am 14 years old and a freshman in high school. I go to TEACH-NW. I am a member of the girls' varsity soccer team at Springfield High School. I want to go semi-pro or Pro one day, and if that doesn't work out, I want to be a traveling midwife.

Hi! I’m Ava and I’m a 9th grader at TEACH-NW. This is my third year at Teach and my first year with REACH. I enjoy writing and reading historical fiction. Outside of school, I participate in community theater at Imagine Theatre and I play the piano and guitar. I also volunteer at Philip Foster Farm in Eagle Creek, which is a historical landmark and stop on the Oregon Trail.

I’m a freshman at TNW I enjoy being homeschooled. I also play football for the Sutherlin bulldogs. I can’t wait to work on some new articles this year.

My name is Jayden Clasby and I’m 13, I live in Grants Pass, Oregon. I’m a basketball player and I’ve been playing for 8 years. I also enjoy running and other sports. Go Ducks!

Hello, my name is Abraham Dale. I decided to join journalism for the credit. Areas of  journalism that interest me are science, technology and the outdoors.

I am a 13 year old boy who lives in Azalea, Oregon. I enjoy writing creative essays and other forms of writing. I also really like playing baseball and running cross country. In my free time I really enjoy fishing, like bass fishing or deep sea fishing.

Hi, my name is Tavi Maas-Despain (he/they). I am currently a junior in high school. I like all things digital media, such as 3D animation, image manipulation, writing, sound mixing, and video editing. I also love analyzing media, and wish to make my own in freelance work in the future, While also doing full-time work for a non-profit organization, speaking of which I also do volunteer work for two non profit organizations as of now, that being the Neighborhood Anarchist Collective and Queer Eugene.

I am Alex Lambeth-Anderson (he/him/his) and I was born in Little Rock, Arkansas. I am twelve years old, and I am in 7th grade. One thing about me is that I care a lot about LGTQIA+ rights. I have one cat, and a dog. I also have a sister (Age 14), and a mom and dad. I like to read, write, draw, paint and do cosplay. I also love Five nights at freddy’s and I play it too much :) I mostly hang out with my friends in my spare time, and we all play Five nights at freddy’s together.
