This app is the solution to blocking out your phone's distractions so you can direct all your attention to your work. Forest allows you to start a timer by planting a virtual seed and until the timer ends, all social media and game apps will be blacklisted. If you safely make it through the full time, your seed will have grown into a full plant! This is a tutorial for the mobile app: Forest Stay Focused.
Customize your timer
- Click on the Tag icon to create tags to categorize the type of work done during the course of the timer.
- Go back to the main page and drag the circle around the tree to modify the length of your desired working time from a minimum of 10 minutes to 2 hours.
- Click “Plant” to start timer.
- Forest will also automatically snooze the notifications from Apps unapproved on the whitelist. To modify this list, click on Setting then App whitelist.
- If you go on a banned app, Forest will send you a notification alerting that your plant will die.
- You’ll receive a notification once your timer is up.
Once your working period ends
- Earn coins to unlock new seeds.
- Click on the Clock icon to start a short break.
- Click on the Share icon to share your progress with your friends.
How to track your progress
- Click on the Tag icon then Tag Overview
- Forest will output the data recorded from your timer use on a circle graph available in a daily, weekly, monthly and annual summary.
- Monitor how well your working time is distributed among other tagged work.
