These three lessons can be used together or stand alone. Teachers are encouraged to pick the lessons that best fit the interest, needs and abilities of their students. Lessons can be adapted to discuss issues other than cannabis including opioids, alcohol, and distracted driving. All lessons focus on developing communication and leadership skills as they involve students sharing their learning with their classmates, grade nine classes, and through school-wide initiatives. In order to allow ample time for research and presentations, teachers should allot 2-7 classes depending on how many lessons are used.
