Grade 10

Overview

The grade 10 lessons were designed with current literature on brain development in mind. They examine risk taking behaviours among teenagers and ask students to create their own prevention strategies to reduce risks. The lessons encourage students to look at their short-term and long-term goals and think about how drug misuse may affect their future plans. In addition to cannabis, Lesson 5 examines the current opioid crisis and teaches students how to identify the risks and where to get help. Teachers are encouraged to review all lessons and use any or all of them in their classes.
