Google Docs Voice Typing

Students can speak into a microphone and Google Docs will convert that speech into text.

If you have trouble getting your headset to work, click here for instructions.

iPad speech-to-text

Students can speak into the iPad and that speech will be converted into text. This will work in any app where typing is required.

This feature is usually enabled on the iPad. If the feature is not enabled, please follow the instructions in the video.

iPad text-to-speech

Students can highlight text and have the iPad read it to them.

This feature is not typically enabled. See the instructions in the video to learn how to enable this feature.

SpeakIt: Google Chrome Text-to-Speech

When in the Chrome browser, a student can highlight a selection of text, press a play button and have text read out to them.

This program is a Chrome Extension called SpeakIt. The video explains how to use the program and also includes a link to a video on how to install the program.
