We are particularly passionate about starting students off on the right foot, which is why we were the first school in Toronto to offer the Grade 9 Enhanced Pathways Program. This entails academic level programming for students who have traditionally selected between academic and applied courses. We pride ourselves on this bold effort to changing our practice and doing things differently for our students. This program will ensure students keep their options open as they begin to consider post-secondary pathways, and subsequently, begin to consider their career paths. 

The forefront of our initiative is to provide rich opportunities and experiences that inspire our students to reach new heights, develop confidence in their abilities to learn, and teach them the academic skills that are integral for success in high school and beyond. These experiences are built into each course and program that we offer.

Additionally, our students have access to a variety of academic and social-emotional supports from our Guidance & Student Services Department. For our learners who require learning accommodations, our Special Education are essential to supporting individual learning styles and needs. The faculty at Oakwood CI are dedicated to supporting the academic success of students. Teachers provide ongoing support to assist students with their learning in a variety of capacities. Our Student Success Team offers credit recovery and credit rescue programs for students who need additional supports to be successful. 

Most importantly, our teachers pride themselves on their unity and their ability to build relationships. We believe that positive relationships and close community will allow students to achieve excellence. At Oakwood, we believe in your child as much as you do.
