Sketchbook assignments calling for various artistic mediums, themes and subject matter.
The work I have created represents a very fond childhood memory of mine. We had just bought our cottage, and were visiting it for the first time. There was wild milkweed all around, and therefore there were also countless monarch butterflies. I remember reaching out, trying to touch one of them. Everything was so perfect, so beautiful, and so exciting. This is one of the happiest moments of my life.
My pointillism piece is based on a subset at my cousin's cottage that I've spent many summers at, growing up.
Some of my favorite memories are being outside and in nature. The image I decided to create in a pointillism style was of a hike I took with my mom and dog this summer. The calming effects of nature have always drawn me outside and I hope to spend more time in nature this year.

I remember going to a beach with my best friend a long time ago.
My favourite memory is watching Tangled for the first time as a kid because it is still my favourite movie.
I did the NYC skyline because some of my favorite childhood memories is living in NYC and going to see my family there after we moved.
Memory: Going to Kamakura with my grandpa
This is my depiction of when my band and I performed our first gig, while wearing cowboy hats.
One of my favourite memories is when I went canoeing with friends.
This piece depicts the anticipatory moment before one of my favourite singers stepped on stage at the Velvet Underground concert venue this summer:)
The happy memory is when a butterfly landed on my nose. I wanted to make it look like the experience took me to some nice butterfly garden despite it occurring on my backyard steps.
The picture I drew was of a really anticipated video game that was released in 2022. The reason why this game is such a vivid memory for me is because the day that my favourite YouTuber released a video of him playing this game, I was also experiencing a cottage with my siblings for the first time ever. Coupled with some of the most whimsical and relaxing car rides home I've ever had. So when I think back to the summer of 2022, my first thought is this video game that just so happened to release at that time as well.
This is a depiction of the Wacky Worm ride available at the CNE! It's the only roller coaster I've ever been on as a little kid that I've really actually enjoyed, and last summer I went on the Wacky Worm for the first time in so many years and felt the same thrill I had as a kid!
This represents a memory from this past Halloween when I carved pumpkins with my dad. This was my pumpkin design from the animated film Coraline, which is what my Halloween costume was from. I had one of my best halloweens this year. I savoured it before I go to school next year and it's my all time favourite holiday.
The reason I chose a tiger as my memory was because my very first sketch book I had was from the dollar store and it has a tiger on it, the first thing I drew in the sketch book was the face of the tiger.
This memory is very important to me because it was one of the prettiest moments that I have ever had with a stranger especially in a really tough year. When I was walking down a neighborhood with a friend, an old grandma walking in the opposite direction of us just quietly and kindly handed me a rose. That was also when the sun was setting and it was very quiet around the area which really gave me the warm fuzzy feeling. I was very happy that day and I still am when I think back at it. Out of all the blueish days that year, that one was truly special to me and I think it's a memory I'll keep forever.
This is a pointillism image in paint pen of a fond memory I have from around this time last year when I went to see this band Brokencyde at this venue called the Rockpile, it was in the middle of flat concrete plains in the suburbs but despite its distance everyone was hyped. This reminds me how music can bring people to the middle nowhere and still be together at the same time.
