PSW Admission Criteria

Please use the below eligibility flowchart to check if you are eligible to apply to the PSW program.

In order to register for the program, you must:

Be at least 21 years of age OR if you are between 18-20 years old, you must have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma
Have a grade 11 English credit (ENG3C or ENG3U) with at least 65% or higher OR assess at a grade 12 English level in the BALC English assessment
Pass an interview with a Burnhamthorpe Staff member
Show proof of Canadian citizenship or residency status OR Convention Refugee Status + Study Permit or proof of application for a study permit (Settlement workers are available to assist with study permit applications)
Proof of address
Be able to get a CLEAR Vulnerable Sector Screening from police
Be able to get a physician to fill out medical forms
Have at least double vaccination against COVID 19
