Getting to New Google Sites
Click the sites icon from apps launcher and choose 'New Google Sites"
- Click + in lower right corner to create a new site.
- OR create a site from Google Drive (New--> more--> Sites)
- Type a name for your site in the upper left corner
- NOTE: If you can not access Google Sites, speak to your district's Google Apps Administrator. They will need to allow it in the Admin console.

How to publish teacher website or Graduation project site/ Student Portfolio
There are 2 different publishing modes for sites-
- DRAFT- Settings for who can EDIT your site
- PUBLISHED- Settings for who can VIEW your site.
Do not add people via email unless you want them to be able to EDIT your site. Instead, change the PUBLISHED setting to 'anyone can find and view' and share the published link with them.

Personalize the Header

- Type Page Title Where indicated
- Click "Header Type" to adjust. Choose from Cover, Title only, Banner, or Large Banner
- Click < and 'change Image' to change header image
- Choose from Gallery, Upload, By URL, Search, Your Albums, or Google Drive
Note- if using an image from the web or your own image, it is best to first edit in an image editing software (Canva, Adobe Spark Post, Pixlr Express, Google Drawings, etc) and set the dimensions to 250 px height and 750 px width.The Image may darken or lighten to improve visibility of title, but you can turn this off if desired by clicking the magic sparkle icon in lower right corner

A Favicon is a custom icon that shows in the browser tab of a published site. Adding one is easy in New Sites!
- Click 3 vertical dots to left of 'Publish'
- Upload or select a small image from Drive or device (PNG work best because of transparent background)
- Click here to access TCS County Logos Folder
- Click 'Publish' to save the change
- Click Arrow next to 'publish' and choose "go to published site" to preview.

The Site Logo can be personalized, and will appear on the corner of each page of your site.
- Hover over the top of your site near the title.
- Click "Add Log"
- Choose image (icon size, png work best)

- Click "Add Footer" at bottom of page
- Add Text box and adjust to 1/3 width
- Add School name, address, phone, fax (can copy from current school site)
- Double click & choose 'image', 'select image' Add school logo from County Logo Folder
- Add Buttons (insert menu) that link back to school and county home page
- Footer appears on all current & new pages
How to Add Buttons

- Supply text on top line
- Supply link on bottom line
- Insert
- Move into footer
