About the department
Quality: Our goal is to maintain and improve students’ core competencies in English and to equip them advanced English language skills and information business skills.
Professionalism: We enable students to attain a high level of professional proficiency in English. This includes preparation for English language certifications, such as GEPT (intermediate, high-intermediate, and advanced), as well as a number of other internationally recognized certificates. We aim to build a foundation for students’ future careers and to cultivate an international outlook.
Culture: International educational exchanges and festivals (Easter, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, etc.) are integrated into the curriculum. Our approach to language teaching is to encourage active communication by providing highly engaging and meaningful materials, with an emphasis on people and culture. We aim to turn students’ interest in the English language into a lifelong passion.
Educational objectives
To enhance students’ basic English listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.
To provide a basic education in business, computer software applications, and word processing skills.
To broaden students’ horizons by providing ESL instruction with an international and intercultural perspective.
To develop students’ sense of integrity, diligence, and enthusiasm for new challenges.
Curriculum
General subjects: language, mathematics, social studies, natural sciences, arts, integrated activities, technology, health and physical education.
Specialized subjects
First year: introduction to digital technology, introduction to business, elementary English listening and speaking, elementary English reading and writing.
Second year: introduction to digital technology, intermediate English listening, intermediate English reading and writing, English presentation, business English letter writing, English word processing.
Third year: digital technology practice, advanced English listening, advanced English reading and writing, project writing, translation and writing, English on the Internet.
Future prospects
Further education: Students can enter various public and private universities and technical colleges via a number of admission channels to study English and other foreign languages.
Career paths: There are numerous possible career paths for graduating students, including foreign language teaching, foreign companies, technology firms, commercial businesses, and the food and beverage service industry. Students who have graduated from our department have gone on to work in business, human resources, procurement, foreign trade, marketing, administration. Former students have also found employment as airline attendants, hotel managers, foreign language tour guides, and other tourism-related staff.
