Theatre, Drama Studio, and Control Booth
Our proscenium stage is designed to host any type of performance or presentation. From theatre to dance, music to film, guest speakers to SAC events, the Mary Ward stage does it all!
Our stage comes equipped with: a cyclorama; a sprung dance floor; proscenium and traveling curtains; and multiple cyc lights with various coloured gels.
The Drama Studio is a workshop space where students concept, create, and rehearse their performances. The studio's sprung dance floor and interchangeable curtains allows it to also function as a performance space. Along with our built-in lighting, sound, and video system, we also have one of the largest costume and prop collections in the TCDSB.
Located above the cafetorium, the control booth (a.k.a "the tech booth") is where our Theatre Production students and Tech Crew members practice the art of stage management. All our stage lighting and sound is controlled from the booth.
Drama @ Ward uses an ETC Express 24/48 lighting console, a Lexicon Soundcraft FX16ii mixing board, two Midget HP Lycian followspots, six LED stage lights, and seventeen different ERS lights (ellipsoidal reflector spotlights) with special effect gobos.
