The Gr. 11 and Gr. 12 Theatre Production courses are for Drama students who have an interest in "behind-the-scenes" work. Students will have many hands-on opportunities to learn lighting and sound design, stage management, theatre safety, and more.
Both ADD3M1 and ADD4M1 can be used for college or university applications.
What's the difference between ADD3/4M1 and Tech Crew?
ADD3M1 and ADD4M1 are credit-granting courses that are available only to students with the Gr. 10 Drama prerequisite.
Tech Crew is a Mary Ward club that anyone can join. Students in Tech Crew earn volunteer hours for their work.

Production Process
In this course, students will learn the basics of managing a theatrical performance. Students are given many hands-on opportunities to learn about stage safety, spiking and striking, microphones, and lighting equipment. In addition, students will learn and practice basic stage management skills. Students in ADD3M1 are expected to assist in the set-up and clean up of all school events both before, during, and after school.
Prerequisite: Gr. 10 Drama (ADA2O1)
In this course, students will expand on their stage management skills and responsibilities. Students will learn how to manage a prompt book, run a Q2Q rehearsal, program lighting cues, and explore principles of sound and lighting design for theatre. Students will stage manage several productions for both the Drama program and the Mary Ward community, and train other students involved in theatre production. Students in ADD4M1 are expected to assist in the set-up and clean up of all school events before, during, and after school.
Prerequisite: Gr. 11 Theatre Production (ADD3M1)
