The presentations explore Métis history, culture, court challenges and the current political state of affairs, plus art, poetry, videos and personal family histories to make for an informative, enjoyable, and interactive presentation.

BIO: Robert McDonald has been working as a Senior Communications Advisor for the past 11 years at Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada (CIRNAC).

Prior to that, he spent two years as the Manager of Communications at the Native Women’s Association of Canada overseeing the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls research.

He also spent three years as the Manager of Public and Media Relations for the Métis National Council and, he was with CTV as an Anchor/Reporter for 18 years.

He is Métis from Manitoba and has spent the past several years hosting Métis in Canada information sessions at CIRNAC to help inform fellow employees about the history, culture, and current political ‘state of affairs’.

Now, he is expanding his program having introduced it in schools and other areas across Ontario.
