Part two of the unit prepares students for the interview and story collection they will be doing in part three. Students engage in mini-lessons and activities that familiarize them with the basics of interviewing and prepare their own interview protocols before reaching out to schedule an interview with their elder of choice.

This mini-lesson will encourage students to reflect on what they already know about interviews. It will also provide students the opportunity to view a video of an interview in order to consider what interviews can be used for.

This mini-lesson will remind students that they are working on building a tool box for resilience and that in order to do so they will be interviewing their elders to learn about how they have managed challenging times in their own lives.
