Unit 1 spans 3 weeks and will start with an introduction to learners, instructors, mentors, and ultimately to arts activism in a lecture format.
Inspired by prominent cases of art activism, students will get their feet wet with digital media workshopping on Week 2 as an exercise for creating graphics and designing messages important to them.
For the final week of Unit 1, local community art activists will come in as guest speakers, present their work to students, and stay during the final workshop days and provide feedback on student presentations of their digital creations.
