Baking Soda

When I put the U.I (Universal Indicator) on the baking soda it turned a dark blue.

Lemon Juice

When I put the U.I into the lemon juice it turned hot pink. This surprised me because I didn't put much lemon juice in the glass.

For this experiment I put some red cabbage in a pot half fill with water and let it boil for about 10 minutes. I then let the pot cool down and got the water from the pot which had now turned purple from the red cabbage. After that i put some baking soda in a clear glass and poured some U.I on it. The result was a deep blue a shown above. I then put some lemon juice in a clear glass and put some U. I in it. The result was a beautiful hot pink. I did test other liquids like beer and milk but nothing happened.
