I think the Beau Miles challenge really helped me get out of my comfort zones and push myself. One example of this is that my longest run before this challenge was 10km so I ran over 150% more. Kinda stoked about that. I also had a lot of little jobs to do. Things that don't really need doing, but today I did them such as cutting my bed raiser. Before I had just put bits of wood under my bed but today I cut them up to the right size so they wouldn't stick out from under my bed. I was pretty amazed at how my body coped with the challenge. Because I thought my body would be absolutely wasted the next day. But I woke up the next day and my body didn't really hurt that much. So I think that this day could be sustainable. Even if it was just a 10km run I think it would really improve the productivity of the human mind and body. One of my idols, David Goggins said that humans are only operating at about 40%of their potential. Once you have pass that 40% mark you are out of your comfort zone so that encourages people to give up. It's just so easy to sit in your office and do something that is boring but inside your comfort zone. This is backed up by my scientific studies, one study shows that in an 8 hour day the average person does 3 hours of work. This works out to be 37.5% of the day people actually work which backs up David Goggins theory. So on Thursday I did 9 hours of work. Those 9 hours were mostly solid works working to my max potential. Now just imagine if every human worked hard all 8 hours of their day. They could get 3 days work done in 1 day. I think this is clearly evident in my school routine in isolation. Some days I will do 2 hours of work but some days I do 5-6 hours of solid work accounting for all the lost work time throughout the week. Another thing I like about the Beau Miles challenge is that you have a feel of what you are getting done which is very satisfying I think. For example many adults don't know what their work is going or what or who it helps. In this Beau Miles challenge It was very satisfying because you could see what is getting done and where your work is going. In conclusion to all that I think everyone should try to push themselves to do this challenge. It really helped me show what's possible in one day.
Three positives
1). I felt like I had done something really good and productive today.
2). Pushed me out of my comfort zones By running a Half Marathon.
3) Got heaps of stuff done that would other wise take me ages to do
Three Negatives
1). As the day went on my productivity went down and didn't have a-lot of energy left at the end of the run. My upper body was fine though bar a few cuts from the wood.
2). Some of the day was reserved for my option classes. (Spanish and product tech). So that took a portion of my day away.
3). Was always under the pump. It was a little bit stressful trying to manage lots of things at once. For example when I was cooking the scrolls I also had to paint my bed.
