HIV in the Philippines

Aside from the current CoVid19 pandemic, our country has long been intensifying its fight against an old yet deleterious enemy; the HIV/AIDS Epidemic. The infographics shared by the Department of Health to raise awareness campaign among the general population as all age group is affected. As of April 2020, among the Mode of Transmissions (MOD), 53% or 41, 082 accounts for sex between both male, 27% or 21, 414 are caused by sex with both males and females, 16% or 12,149 are from unprotected intercourse between an infected male or an infected female, while 3% or 2,333 accounts in the use of needles by drug users, also 1% or 208 occurs during pregnancy/delivery from mother to child. Another 1% or 696 is associated with the use of blood products, needle prick injury, and some are from unknown cause.
