Role of Publisher in enhancing research in the new normal

Synopsis

The effect of the Covid-19 pandemic is staggering and affecting everyone and every business. In the realm of higher education, research and publication world, many students including teachers and researchers are struggling to adapt and survive. This also includes industry players such as publishers, research associations, and research funders around the world.

           This presentation is demonstrating examples of industry player such as Emerald Group Publishing, in their continuous efforts to provide free access to contents related to Coronavirus. Emerald Group Publishing believes it is the publisher’s responsibility to provide, to adapt, and to enhance both the teaching and learning community, and research community in the times of pandemic. All resources that related to the coronavirus is released and freely available for reading, learning, teaching and research uses. A special fund was invested to promote more in-depth research about coronavirus and to support the Open Access publication. New way of publications is introduced to catch-up with the latest communication’s technology and the behaviors of social media consumer nowadays.

           This presentation is also re-introducing the quality of journals by revisiting indexing and ranking such as Clarivate Analytics and Scopus. The aims are to re-educate our researchers and re-introduce to our younger researchers on the importance of research impact beyond citations.
