About the Symposium


Interdisciplinary Teaching and Learning: The New Normal  examines the new normal that has emerged since COVID-19 outbreak. The symposium aims to explore how the new normal shifts the paradigm in the field of social science, sciences and the publishing industry.


Inaugural TAR UMT Research Symposium aims to foster university-industry collaboration to impart valuable information to students and bring research insight to the fore. It also provides opportunities for academics to grow their professional network, ascertain the most recent advancements in their fields, and learn to deal with challenges associated with teaching and learning during COVID-19 and endemic from the subject-matter experts. This open-access event helped to achieve the Symposium objectives, Sustainable Development Goals, and University Social Responsibility. 


The retrospective research and the current views of the speakers and participants facilitate an understanding of the changes and reveal the transitioning of interdisciplinary teaching and learning to the new normal during COVID-19 and the endemic. It extends the knowledge in learning innovative methods from around the globe to tackle the issues and be prepared for any future pandemics by unveiling the locale and experts' practices from different ASEAN regions pertaining to the evolution and policy recommendation of teaching and learning that can be greener, more flexible and sustainable in prepping for post-pandemic "next normal".
