Transfer students do not have to take the MPE unless they are planning to take MATH 151, 171, 147, or 142 at Texas A&M.
For students who plan to take MATH 151, 171, or 147, a prerequisite restriction will prevent them from enrolling in the courses unless you have credit for MATH 150 at Texas A&M University or an appropriate score on the MPE Version 2.
For students who plan to take MATH 142, you must have credit for MATH 140, MATH 150, or an appropriate score on the MPE Version 2 to register for the course. You are only allowed to take or retake the MPE if you have never attempted MATH 140 or MATH 150, as those are the course prerequisites for the Calculus courses.
We recommend students check with their academic advisor to determine if they must take the MPE. If a transfer student needs to take the MPE, they can follow the same instructions given for Incoming Freshmen for accessing and taking the MPE.
