St Adwenna

At the end of 2020 pews were removed and the floor levelled in the south-east corner of the building to create a flexible space. Used mainly as  small chapel for small gatherings, it is also used for choirs, additional seating and signing wedding registers. The suggestion was made to dedicate it to a saint and after discussion it was dedicated to St Adwenna at the Advent service in 2021, by Rt Rev Hugh Nelson, Bishop of St Germans.

In 2022 the PCC commissioned Colin Pethick, a local artist to create a painting illustrating the life of St Adwenna. The painting, which unfortunately is no longer on display, was revealed at the Advent service 2022, and the artist explains the symbolism here.

This painting celebrates the following events:

17 September 2022, With thanksgiving for the marriage of Davud Bailey & Emma Cheslett, All Saints Harrowbarrow

24 December 2021, With thanksgiving for the marriage of Keith Clayton & Roselyne Hue, St Andrew Calstock

2 January 2021, With thanksgiving for the marriage of Thomas Coates & Imogen Choroszewska, St Andrew Calstock
