Kaūaka: The Marathon Bird
Page 8 - Monday
Create task: Using Google Drawings and a picture of New Zealand, show the path the Kuaka flies (there might be more than one). Make sure your map is labeled with cities, mountains etc. Consider that the bird might need to fly around mountains?
Page 9 - Tuesday
Lou - Please ensure you have discussed vocab
Create task: Find out more about Alaska. What kinds of weather do they have? Are there other animals that migrate there? Why do these animals/birds do that? Does Alaska have any special mountains, rivers or lakes that make it unique? Etc. Share on your blog.
Page 10 - Wednesday
Create task - go back to your map you made on Monday - make a copy of it. Now add in markings of the places where the birds stay while in New Zealand and name them. On the side of your map, write 2-5 sentences about why the birds choose these places to live in.
Page 11 - Thursday
Create task - Make a third map explaining with your own words where the birds go and what they do in each place. 5 sentences about each stop AT LEAST. Use pictures to help support what you say.
