Broker Requirements for Continuing Education

All brokers have a 3 year license renewal period from July 1-June 30, and must complete 12 hours of CE each year during that period. In the last year of what is called the renewal period, brokers will have to pay a renewal fee to renew their license. The current license renewal period is July 1, 2023-June 30, 2026. 

ALL licensees belonging to NAR (National Association of Realtors) must take the NAR Code of Ethics CE class every 3 years. The current 3 year compliance window runs from January 1, 2025- December 31, 2027. 

MANAGING BROKERS:  If you have the Managing Broker Eligible designation on your license (you are independent and holding your own license or were the Principal of your company and now managing broker), 4 of the 12 annual CE hours must be dedicated to the necessary business of management skills and legal knowledge needed by a managing broker.
