Tahoma STEP

General Information

Tahoma seniors meet the Washington State High School and Beyond Plan requirement by completing STEP assignments in their senior social studies class. STEP is 20% of the overall grade in this class. Students who are not in an ACGI or AP Government class at THS also need to complete required STEP assignments in order to earn a Tahoma High School diploma - information can be found here.

Grading for Students taking ACGI/AP Government at THS

Major assignments are worth 4 points and minor assignments are worth 1 point.

Major assignments: Students must earn at least 2.8 out of 4 (70%) in ACGI/AP Government/AP Gov WTP. Assignments that are returned for revision, and/or are turned in late, will earn a maximum of 2.8. Students who are missing a required assignment will receive a "no credit" for the course until these assignments are completed.

Minor assignments: Mentor Meetings, Personal Data Sheet, and other minor STEP assignments  are worth 1-point. Students may score a .75 - 1.0 for work that is submitted on time. Late work will earn a grade of 0.7.
