13th Year Plan

Purpose

The purpose of this assignment is to help students develop their plan for their 13th Year, the year following graduation from high school. As part of this assignment, you will also complete some of the documentation that is required for the High School & Beyond Plan, which is a state graduation requirement. 


Assignment

Go to Google Classroom to complete assignment. A TableTop conversation is part of this assignment, so be sure to plan time to talk to your parent, guardian, or another trusted adult so you can finish the assignment on time.

Rubric


You must meet standard by earning at least 70% on the assignment in order to meet the graduation requirement, which is a score of 2.8 or above. Assignments will be returned as incomplete if sections are left unfinished. If your assignment is incomplete, you will need to revise and resubmit. The highest grade an incomplete or late assignment can earn is a 2.8/4.

For this assignment, read through the choices below and pick the assignment that best matches what you plan to do for your 13th year. If your plan changes over the course of your senior year, that's okay.

When you click on the link, you will be prompted to make a copy to save in your Drive. You will upload your assignment in Google Classroom for AGGI/AP Government when finished. 

Students planning to start a career in the trades.

Students planning to join the armed forces. 

Students planning to enter the workforce after graduation. This includes part-time work with the goal of becoming full-time. This does NOT include part-time work while attending school or participating in a training program. 

Students planning to earn a two-year degree at a community college, then transfer to a different college/university to finish a four-year degree. 

Students planning to attend a community college or trade school (e.g. Green River, Renton Tech, UTI, Gene Juarez, massage therapy, truck driving, dental assistant) and not planning to go on to a four year college/university. 

Students currently in part-time or full-time Running Start who plan to continue at their current school for the 2023-2024 school year with the goal of earning a degree or certificate from that school. If you plan to transfer to a four-year school after completing a degree, complete the assignment below for transfers, not this assignment.

Students planning to go directly to a four-year college/university. Students planning to attend a community college and earn a four-year degree from that community college should select this assignment. 

Students planning to travel or study abroad during part, or all, of the 2023-2024 school year. Please keep in mind that travel abroad may be limited or impossible due to COVID. 

Students planning to serve others through faith-based, non-profit, or other organizations. LDS students planning to go on a mission next year, should select the Post High School Plan assignment that reflects what they want to do when they return from their mission.
