Beginning Band is designed for students eager to learn a woodwind, brass, or percussion instrument, with no prior musical experience required. Each student will be assessed by a TAFA Band instructor to determine the instrument best suited to their physical attributes and interests.
This class covers essential fundamentals, including beginning music theory, note reading, rhythm study, and proper instrument handling. With regular daily practice and active participation, students will progress to an early intermediate level by the end of the first year. This is a full-year course with required practice time.
