Today, many Native American, or Indigenous, people don't celebrate Thanksgiving. To them, Thanksgiving is a painful reminder of people that were killed and land that was stolen by European people.

I want to share something with you from the Haudenosaunee tribe of Native Americans. The Haudenosaunee tribe are from New York. They have a tradition that they give thanks to the world around them before any meeting, birthday, wedding, funeral, or event. This called "The Thanksgiving Address". The word "address" can also mean a speech.
