It is understandable that at times we are tempted to dismiss spending time on concepts like authentic learning because 'they just don't work in the real world'. This activity challenges us to explore the paradoxes we face as educators as we attempt to respond to conflicting drivers, like a desire to be creative while at the same time responding to the external demands of, say, Australian curriculum.

This activity has engaged with the vexed question of whether authentic learning is attainable in the real world of the everyday life of schools. The following activity provides an opportunity to apply our understanding of the ideals of authentic learning to our plans for our school in the next year or so.
