Student Groupings to start the 2020 - 2021 school year:
1. Group A: Students who reside in a family where the household last name begins with a letter in the following range of (A - La).
2. Group B: Students who reside in a family household where the last name begins with a letter in the following range of (Lb - Z).
3. Family members who reside in the same household will be assigned the same group (A or B).
4. Families who have children attending both SWSD and Kingsway will be assigned the same group day (A or B).
Option 1: Grade 1 - 6 General Education, ICR Classrooms, POR Classrooms:
On-site student capacity for classroom learning will be reduced to approximately 50% of the traditional class size to allow for social distancing.
Classrooms will be divided into two groups of students: Group A and Group B
Group A will typically meet on-site Mondays and Tuesdays and Group B will typically meet on-site on Thursdays and Fridays.
Groups A and B will participate in distance learning when not on campus.
Most Wednesdays throughout the school year will be a scheduled district cleaning day to ensure classrooms are disinfected before the next group of students arrive. Lessons will be provided by our related arts/special area teachers; however, the classroom teacher will be available to answer any questions you may have. On Wednesdays, classroom teachers will also have additional time for such small groups.
Please understand that Wednesdays are part of our 180 school day requirement as such engagement with learning is expected of all students.
On-site campus learning will follow an early dismissal learning schedule. Depending on the building, students will be dismissed between 12:30 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Students engaged in distance learning will have daily synchronous learning time with their classroom teacher in the afternoon each day. (This will take place after the 'on-site' learning day ends.) On all distance learning days, students will be required to log in and complete assigned work. Students will be counted as absent and/or truant if he/she does not log on, complete their work, or communicate with staff at some point during the actual day (a.m. or p.m.) Absentee notes will still be required for absences. Traditional school policies and procedures will remain in effect even though students are engaged in an off-campus, distance learning model.
Option 1: Kindergarten
On-site student capacity for classroom learning will be reduced to approximately 50% of the traditional class size to allow for social distancing.

Group A will attend kindergarten in the a.m. session (8:40 - 11:10) for a 2.5 hour day (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday)
Group B will attend kindergarten in the p.m. session (12:40 pm - 3:20 pm) for a 2.5 hour day. (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday)
Wednesday will be a building cleaning day to ensure your child's classroom is disinfected mid-week. Lessons will be provided by our related arts/special area teachers on Wednesdays; however, the classroom teacher will be available to answer any questions you may have. On Wednesdays, classroom teachers will also have additional time for such small groups.

Students will attend school four days a week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday)

Option 2: Distance Learning Option
Families may choose to remain in a distance learning model for all five school days of the school week.
Logging in daily, daily communication with staff, and completion of student work will be required each day.
Students will be counted as absent and or truant if a student does not log on, complete their work, or communicate with staff at some point during the actual day (a.m. or p.m.) Students will still be required to provide excuse notes to the school for their absence. Traditional school policies and procedures will remain in effect even though the mode of learning will be virtual.
Families who choose this model will sign an agreement indicating they will remain in this model through the minimum of the first trimester or until schools return to their traditional, full-capacity, structure (whichever comes first).
Lessons on Wednesdays will be provided by our related arts/special area teachers; however, the classroom teacher will be available to answer any questions you may have. On Wednesdays, classroom teachers will also have additional time for such small groups.
