March 2021: Students learned about the paleontologist Mary Anning! We were inspired by her scientific discoveries! Students painted a landscape painting and then added their own fossils hidden among the rocks!

December 2019: The CUTEST little clay owls!
December 2019: We are finally back!! First grade has been hard at work this year. A crowd favorite has been the mad scientist self portraits that they created! We learned about portraiture, collage, and color mixing during this project!
3/1/19: 1st Grade students made giraffe paintings today! They worked on using paint responsibly, and drawing geometric and organic shapes on their giraffe's necks!
11/29/18: Students learned a new process called printmaking! 1st graders got the opportunity to draw their own castles using oil pastels. To make the stones of the castles, they dipped square eraser "stamps" into paint, and stamped them onto the papers.
11/08/18: 1st grade students have been learning about cityscapes! To make their own, students used construction paper to cut out buildings, windows, roads, clouds, stars, etc, to create their own unique city. This type of art is called collage!
