Hello everyone in Year 2,
I’m in my kitchen again trying to get some work ready for you. I am missing you all a lot.
I hope you joined in and tried the work. I love the work that is being shared on shareyear2@swbschool.net. This is a website and your parents can take a photo of your work then email it.
I know you may not have a printer but try your best. You can always copy the work on to paper.
Monday
We are going to listen to a story by Eric Carle.

Thursday
I want you to ask your Mum or Dad to help you collect seeds from fruit and vegetables.
Here are some ideas to get seeds:
apples
oranges
tomatoes
cucumbers
pop corn
peppers
beans
avocado
watermelon
melon
Watch the film “How plants grow” from Espresso.
1. Put your seeds on a tissue or cotton wool that has been wet a little. Leave them to germinate. Some will but some will not.
2. Watch closely what comes out of the cracked shell first, the shoot or the root.
3. If any seeds germinate carefully put in a cup with cotton wool and water a little bit each day. Leave on a windowsill. If you have a garden carefully plant them in the ground and water everyday.
Name the parts of a flowering plant.
Use the internet to find out the names of each flower.
Type the flower name in search. Go to image and match the flower on your sheet and write the name in the box.
Friday
Listen to The Tiny Seed by Eric Carle again.
Do a quiz: 201582
Fractions
What is a fraction?
A fraction simply tells us how many parts of a whole we have. You can recognize a fraction by the slash that is written between the two numbers. We have a top number, the numerator, and a bottom number, the denominator. For example, 1/2 is a fraction. ... So 1/2 of a pie is half a pie!
Watch the videos to help explain fractions:

Try the work sheets on fractions.
Try your best and some are games you may need someone to play with.
