Hello everyone in Year 2,
I’m in my kitchen again trying to get some work ready for you. I am missing you all a lot. I hope you joined in and tried the work. I like the story of Flat Stanley especially when he has to disguise himself as a shepherdess.
Did you try a quiz for Flat Stanley? The quiz number is on last weeks work.
I know you may not have a printer but try your best. You can always copy the work on to paper

Watch the video to remind you how to do your subtraction using ones and tens. Then watch how to subtract ones and tens.
* not the same as addition*
Follow the instructions carefully because making sums are different from addition.
Remember takeaway, subtraction the number gets smaller.
Trees
A tree is a tall plant with a trunk and branches made wood. Trees can live for many years. The oldest tree ever discovered is approximately 5,000 years old and the oldest tree from the UK is about 1,000.
The four main parts of a tree are the roots, the trunk, the branches, and the leaves.
The roots of a tree are usually under the ground.
The trunk is the main body of the tree. The trunk is covered with bark which protects it from damage.
The leaves of a tree are green most of the time, but they can come in many colours, shapes and sizes. The leaves take in sunlight and use water and food from the roots to make the tree grow.
The crown is made up of the leaves and branches at the top of a tree. The crown shades the roots, collects energy from the sun and allows the tree to remove extra water to keep it cool.
Watch the video to help you draw a tree. You can also look out your window to get ideas for your tree.
I hope you have a good week. If you go for a walk collect treasures like leaves, stones and sticks.
I found this lovely rainbow tree. If you have felt pens or paint wet the paper and then let the colours slowly mix together. Have a go it could be fun. You can share work by email on shareyear2@swbschool.net. Get your parents help send it.
Try your best and have a good time.
All the best
Debbie
