Music allows you to develop an understanding of human emotion, interaction, creativity and culture through the study of core knowledge and technical, constructive and expressive skill in performance, composition and musical analysis/listening. You learn to appreciate different styles of music and are encouraged to respect and be open minded towards musical genres and cultures, and their contexts. As a Musician at Borlase you are creative, look to take intellectual risks, and use analytical and theoretical skills to overcome problems. Through the practice of Music you develop confidence to perform in front of others, to work together and independently, and show both leadership and resilience in a competitive world with core cultural knowledge for life. You learn how to both interpret and express ideas in order to connect with those around you, and to manage your time effectively between various academic and extracurricular commitments. To enjoy Music is knowing how to listen, create and to enjoy life long learning.
