Careers

As a rigorous, challenging, analytical, creative and practical subject, studying Music at KS3, GCSE and/or A Level can offer a gateway to a vast range of careers. Common destinations for people that study Music at university include professional music performance, conducting, composing and arranging, teaching, arts management, media, events, sound design/technology and theatre. However, students from Borlase who have studied Music to a high level have also gone on to undertake roles in a wide range of professions including: Medicine, Business, Banking, Law, Retail, Politics and Hospitality. Employers value the skills that musicians develop including confidence in performance, working well independently and in a team, being analytical, offering creative ideas/solutions, having a high level of resilience and working well under pressure.
