Classroom Management
Classroom Jobs:
Each week several students will be chosen to have a classroom job. These students will hold various responsibilities that promote leadership within the classroom. The chosen students are hard working, model citizens who continuously try their best!
Table Captain: Responsible for keeping the group on task as well as gathering materials.
Paper Passer: Pass out papers to the class.
Pencils: Sharpens the unsharpened or dull pencils at the END OF THE DAY.
Door Holder: Holds the door for the class. Stands second in line.
Lights: Turn the lights on and off when asked.
Line Leader: At the front of the line leading the line where we are going.
Caboose: At the end of the line to make sure everyone gets to where they should go.
Messenger: Brings the mail to the office in the morning, as well as any messages.
Teacher’s Helper: Makes sure the ChromeCart is plugged in, all computers are plugged in, does anyone’s job that is absent, and helps the teacher with tasks.
Attendance/Lunch: Helps the teacher figure out who is absent and who got which lunch.
Brownie Points
As a class, students will work together to earn Brownie Points. The class will receive a brownie when they are following role-model expectations in and out of the classroom. When the pan is full, the reward predetermined by the class is earned!
Earning Leaves
In addition, we will be using a highlighter leaf card system for students. Each student will have the opportunity to earn “leaves” highlighted on a sheet for positive behaviors. A full leaf card will allow the student to be rewarded for their behavior with a prize ranging from 10 leaves to 30 leaves, so students have the opportunity to save up or cash in.
