This is an interesting video from a "marathon drawing class" at Rhode Island School of Design in Providence, Rhode Island. It explains how important it is to practice drawing everyday.

Art Enrichment Learning:
- Although we just started pop art recently, I'd like you to try your hand at creating a personal message/graphic of your own staying in line with the bold, colorful images we explored with this art movement.
- Think of an image or a word that means something to you. Enlarge it on your paper. Working in pencil first to lay out the design, add the shapes behind the word to give that visual "bam" to the viewer.
- You may start with the background first if you are more comfortable.
- Add bright colors that contrast, and outlined words/graphic for a bold pop art look!

I hope you are all keeping busy and staying healthy!
This is a different kind of video I thought you would like to view. You'll see the people who work at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York put up and take down the work of famous artists. One of them happens to be Van Gogh. You will see Starry Night as well as Monet's famous Water Lilies. Notice the scale/size of the Water Lilies painting! The art must be handled with much care setting up and taking down.
One of the artists work exhibited is Andy Warhol's Campbell Soup Cans. This is true Pop Art! Looking back on his career, Warhol felt that the Campbell’s Soup Can was his favorite work and that, "I should have just done the Campbell’s Soups and kept on doing them ... because everybody only does one painting anyway." It is the signature image of the his art career.
Warhol impacted the way that pop art is created because he used his work as a way of personal expression. While the silk screen images were Warhol's primary medium of expression, he also experimented with film and photography throughout his artistic career.

Enrichment Learning:
- Start by cutting newspaper or colored paper strips 1" wide by the width of the newspaper. The standard width of a single newpaper page is about 15".
- You will begin to tightly coil the paper into itself which will create the base of your pot/cup.
- It is important taping each end of paper at the end of the coil and the beginning of the next strip you will also coil.
- Continue wrapping the newspaper around in a circular pattern until your "puck" is about 4" in diameter.
- As shown in video, using your thumbs on the inside of the bowl, slowly but surely raise up the sides carefully to achieve the height you'd like for your sculpture.
- For the base, keep at least the diameter/size of a Ritz cracker so your form is sold and will not wobble.
- If you are not satisfied, you can always tap the paper coil back into its original puck form and begin again!
- For a finishing touch, you may brush the paper sculpture with glue or Mod Podge.
