Usage of Some & Any

Some ใช้กับคำนามที่นับไม่ได้ และคำนามที่นับได้ เป็นพหูพจน์และใช้ในประโยคบอกเล่า เช่น

• There is some milk in the bottle.

• There are some apples on the table.

• I have got some oranges.

Any ใช้กับคำนามที่นับไม่ได้และคำนามที่นับได้ ที่เป็นรูปพหูพจน์ และใช้ในประโยค คำถาม และปฏิเสธ เช่น

• There isn’t any water in the glass.

• I haven’t got any apples.

• Is there any sugar available?

ยกเว้น!!

คำถามที่เป็นข้อเสนอ ใช้ some ในประโยคคำถามได้ เช่น

• Would you like some tea?

Yes, please./ No thanks.

There is some cake in the plate.

A: Is there any cake on the plate?

B: Yes, there is.

There are some bananas in the bowl.

A: Are there any bananas in the bowl?

B: Yes, there are.

There are some apples on the table.

A: Are there any apples under the table?

B: No, there aren’t.
