Wit and Wisdom (ELA)

Wit & Wisdom is an English language arts (ELA) curriculum that focuses on building background knowledge. It's designed to help students become effective communicators, exceptional writers, and successful readers. The curriculum aims to help students meet the demands of the standards while still enjoying reading and writing. 

Typing Club

Typing Club s is an online learning program that focuses on typing, computer readiness, and digital citizenship.  Students will use this program 2-3 times a week for morning warm-up work. This must be done on a physical keyboard with fingers on home row, no hunting and pecking. Those students who feel ready for a challenge can cover their hands with a kitchen towel (this helps them really learn where the keys are without peeking). 

i-Ready Reading

iReady Reading is a supplemental online program that students will be required to do for a minimum of 80 minutes/week.  iReady is designed to meet the individual needs of students whether they are a struggling reader or an accelerated reader through engaging games and motivating personal instruction. I will be also using this program to provide diagnostic tests to see your child's ability levels in several reading strands.

Epic! Reading

Epic Reading is a digital reading platform for students with books to choose from for any grade level.  I will be assigning some books that will be part of our curriculum and students can also browse and read books that suit their interests.
