Hi, I'm Stacie. I am an artist, art educator, wife and mother of three. I am blessed to paint in my home studio in Cleves, Ohio. It is my passion and mission to spread LOVE, JOY, HOPE and HEALING through the power of art. Each of my paintings have a unique history. My paintings begin with a vintage find. A pallet of neutral colors placed on top of a painted or printed canvas. Layered with love and created with a process unique to Stacie Kearns Art. Bits of the past peak through. This technique produces a beautiful blend of new and old. My process and product celebrates cracks and crevices, finds beauty in imperfection and breathes new life into old.

Artist Heather Powell is a resident of South Eastern Indiana, Aurora to be specific. She is a registered nurse by degree and now an amateur natural light photographer by trade. She says "natural light allows her to explore the world and capture nature in diverse ways. Photography is my peace in this chaotic world, it allows time to pause, even if for just a second, and then allows that memory to be captured forever." When she's not capturing the still life beauty of nature all around, you can find her capturing the beauty of her active daughters. She's either on the soccer field with her sophomore or taking senior pictures as her oldest prepares to spread her wings and fly.
"Photography is an art of observation. It has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them" Elliot Erwitt

She was raised around art, her mother is an artist, but she never felt like she got her "art gene". She was always creative and loved color, but it wasn't until recently that she started nursing school and needed a creative outlet, it was then that she started to paint. It all started as a little watercolor portrait of her family, and then she fell in love with painting. She mostly uses watercolor, but I enjoys many mediums.

My name is Jenny Ackerman and I am an art educator. I have had the privilege of working with students in grades kindergarten through 8th during my career. Rainbow Hex Sign was inspired by Pennsylvania Dutch folk art. Folk art refers to art that is related to a specific culture and is often decorative. Hex signs were typically displayed on the barns of farmers in Pennsylvania Dutch country. Some people think the signs were meant to ward off evil or bring luck to the farm land. A Hex Sign demonstrates the following elements of art and design: radial symmetry, color balance, color mixing, geometric shapes and has a circular picture plane. Kristin Farr, a contemporary artist, connects to her cultural roots by exploring Hex Sign with a modern twist. She uses bright neon colors and complex designs to create her version of a Hex sign. Have you spotted any barn paintings in your community or in your travels? How are they the same or different from this painting?

Debi loves God and she loves color. When you marry those two loves you find a colorful creative artist. She says, “I remember as a child being so excited when I got a new box of crayons each year. The year I got to a set of watercolors…I thought I was a real artist.” Today, when she sees a row of boats, a shelf of material, spools of thread, or any palette of beautiful colors it fascinates her she says.
Her greatest desire is to depict God’s creation with the expression of color in art, showing the light of His love for His creation in that process. If you look carefully at her work, you will find a feather hidden in each painting, except her very first painting, depicting God’s angels ever watching over us doing His work and sharing His love.
She studied art at Purdue University and The Art Institute of Cincinnati. In addition, she has participated in Art workshops all over the nation from Alaska, Wyoming, Colorado, and Florida to North Carolina, Ohio, Indiana, and Wisconsin. She is collected nationally and shows regionally. Her work can be found in several galleries in Southeastern Indiana and in shows in Ohio, Kentucky, and Tennessee. She has won awards across the region for her work. Her latest award was at the Madison Regional Art Show. You can also find her work online at
Her work is not limited to the canvas. She has several murals across the Midwest. Her work in the Windows of Aurora can be seen as you drive around the city or participate in the Aurora City tours. She had covered Adirondack Chairs with her designs of apples and a rendition of the Bushing Bridge in Versailles Park. She has designed walking stick medallions for the Versailles State park and had her art put on canvas bags and merchandise. One of her pieces can be found in Kingsport Tennessee on their Carousel of Kingsport Tennessee. Her next mural will be for the side of the Art on Main Gallery in Madison, Indiana.
You may view her work locally at Art on Main in Madison; Rom Weber Marketplace, Batesville; Southeastern Indiana Art Guild Gallery, Aurora; or by appointment at her Home Studio, Art 4 the Light Studio, Milan. You can contact her at 812-584-3436.

Cindy is a local artist from Lawrenceburg, IN. She said she fell in love with the beauty of oil painting many years ago. She says it moves her more than any other art form she has ever experienced.
She believes painting is a conversation between the artist and viewer. The subject shows what the artist finds compelling. The way the brushstrokes are applied can convey energy, confidence, and emotion. The color harmony or discord can evoke an emotional response. It can create a mood of serenity, sadness, happiness, or even anger. Cindy says her inspiration as an artist is to find the way that she can share the powerful emotion she feels when she is painting with you, the viewer.

Medium Used: Acrylic painting on MDF
Medium Used: Photography
Photography has been a passion of mine since I was a kid. When I married and had a family of my own, my daughters were my primary focus; and then on to the grandchildren and their activities. But as I began to travel, my focus changed from people, to some of the most awesome sights and natural beauty, that I could hardly believe . Being born and raised, and now "aging gracefully" in Cincinnati, Ohio, (currently a Member of the Southeastern IN Art Guild in Aurora IN), I sometimes feel that I didn't always take the time to seek out the natural beauty of my own surroundings. I'm finding that travel seems to accelerate my desire to find more of it. My intent is to capture some of nature's creativity, vibrant colors and uniqueness in photos, then share it with those around me. In times of trouble and unrest, like we see in our world today, it is nice to know there is still some peace and tranquility within our reach. All you have to do is look for it.....
