Anne Poyner is in her 22nd year as the director of Theatre and Forensics at Summit High School. She holds a BFA in theatre, speech, and English and an MSE from Henderson State University. Her speech teams regularly place in the final rounds of local, state and national tournaments and she is on the New Jersey Speech and Debate League Executive Committee. Anne was awarded New Jersey Coach of the Year in 2014.
Her musicals have received multiple Paper Mill Playhouse Rising Star Awards including three Outstanding Overall Productions and Best Director. In 2021 Anne received the Rising Star Award for Outstanding Educator. She also serves on the Rising Star steering committee. The Montclair Theatre Night Awards have recognized Summit with multiple nominations and awards for their fall plays over the years including Best Director and Best Overall Production. Anne was awarded the Jo Anne Fox Award for Outstanding Theatre Educator in 2022. Anne has three grown children, four grandchildren and resides in West Orange with her husband, Jim, and their fur babies Buddy and Vivienne (adopted during Summit’s production of Legally Blonde).
Julia Storr is the drama teacher at LCJSMS! Mrs. Storr received a BFA in Music Theater from Illinois Wesleyan University and her master's in Theater Education from Drew University. Prior to working in education she performed with the Scioto Society, National Theater for Children, Hampstead Stage Company, and served as the director of education for Maples Repertory Theater. In addition to LCJSMS she has taught at Lincoln Hubbard Elementary School and Summit High School. At the middle school Mrs. Storr teaches Drama 6, Drama 7, and the eighth grade Musical Theater Workshop elective. Additionally, she both runs Drama Club and directs the fall play and spring musical each year!
Ms. Jenna Wilkinson is a Drama, Film, and Stagecraft teacher at LCJSMS. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Education from Montclair State University, where she also served as a Student Government Official, Theatre Organization Leader, and Resident Director for several stage productions. With over 14 years of experience in both theatre and film performance, and more than 5 years in directing and stage management, Ms. Wilkinson brings a wealth of experience and passion to her classroom. Her goal is to create engaging, hands-on activities that foster student creativity and development in performance techniques, writing, film analysis, directing, and more. Ms. Wilkinson is beyond honored to inspire the next generation of storytellers and performers!
