Kyle Lilley

Student 2013-2015

Kyle enrolled onto the Level 3 Futsal and Education programme in September 2013 and in his two years with Sheffield United Community Foundation excelled both on and off the court.

In two years on the scholarship Kyle scored over 80 goals, including a hat-trick in the Soccer AM Cup Final at the Copper Box Arena, and also was invited twice to the Regional U19 England Futsal Trials.

In the classroom Kyle was always an extremely keen learner, and graduated the programme in July 2015 with the highest possible grade, a triple distinction.

As a result of Kyle’s attitude both on and off the futsal court, he was invited to enrol into the International Futsal Academy based at Loughborough University, where he will study a degree in sport and play under the England national coaching staff.

Oliver May

Oliver achieved numerous futsal accolades in his time on the programme including a Regional Title, a National Title and a Soccer AM Futsal Cup runners up medal. As well as the achievements Olly achieved on the futsal court, he also graduated the programme with a triple distinction.

Upon graduating from the Futsal and Education programme, Oliver was offered a four-year Soccer Scholarship at Lassen College in California, USA.

Max Vogelsang-Szczupak

Student 2015-2017

Max graduated the Level 3 Extended Diploma in 2017 after two highly successful years with the Sports Education Academy.

During his time on the programme, Max played key roles in both the futsal squads and latterly the football squad in his second year. In Y12, Max was influential as the goalkeeper for the futsal A squad which at the time was made up primarily of Y13 students. He and his team went on to finish third in the North Division 1 and qualify for the National Finals in Birmingham. In his second year, Max turned his attentions to the football team. Not only was Max the first choice goalkeeper but he also took on coaching and managerial responsibilities. This also carried over onto the 2017 Valencia Tour where he kept a clean sheet against the Spanish outfit Catarroja CF in a 3-0 victory for the Blades.

Despite all this, Max's most notable contributions came with his work experience efforts. Max totaled over 300 hours of work experience in Y13 through running badminton, football and multi-skills sessions in the community. He quickly made a reputation for himself as being a reliable and skilled young coach, which in turn resulted in him being offered the opportunity to coach at Sheffield United Academy's development centres.

Max was awarded the prestigious Community Contribution Award by Foundation Manager Mark Todd at the 'Celebrate Success Event' in July 2017 in recognition of his efforts throughout the year.
