Welcome to Forest School!
WB: 5.11.24 & 11.11.24
We explored our Forest School area and talked about some important rules: no picking, no licking and ... no kicking! We became colour detectives as we looked for signs of Autumn.
WB: 18.11.24 & 25.11.24
We put our Owl Expert skills to good use in Forest School this week. Check out the owls we made using Forest School treasures! It was a great opportunity to recall some owl features and fun facts.
WB: 06.01.25 & 13.01.25
We have been fascinated by the changing season and explored signs of winter in our Forest School session. We collected winter treasures to make ice decorations!
WB: 03.02.25 & 10.02.25
In this Forest School session, we worked on our orientation skills. We practiced moving forwards, backwards, left and right. We counted our steps and practiced giving directions to a partner. We then made arrows using natural materials to lead our partners on an adventure around the Forest!
WB: 03.03.25
It's World Book Week! We went down to Forest School and to our surprise we got a visit from a masked reader! It was Chef and he read us his favourite story. Wow, what fun!
WB: 24.03.25 & 31.03.25
Recently, we have noticed a lot more birds in our Forest School. We learned a little bit about bird migration and thought that the birds might be hungry after a long winter. We decided to open our very own bird cafe by making some bird feeders! Look at all that teamwork!
WB: 12.05.25 & 19.05.25
We have been very busy gardeners this week! We went down to Forest School to do some planting and watering. We cleaned out some of the vegetables patches and made sure they had enough water to grow big and tall!
WB: 16.06.25 & 23.06.25
Our Forest School has been bursting with bugs and mini beasts! We decided it would be a good idea to make a home for all these creatures. Check out our bug hotels! We worked in teams to decorate a kitchen roll then filled it with some bug favourites - sticks, leaves and rocks! What a lovely cozy home!
WB: 30.06.25 & 07.07.25
After creating our Bug Hotel, we headed down to Forest School ready for a bug hunt! We could not believe how many mini beasts we could find - worms, bees, ants, butterflies and even an earwig! Wow, what a successful bug hunt!
