Capstone prototype 

                                                                                                Overview:

For our senior engineering capstone our team Edison Parker Jordan and I designed and built a physical prototype of our project idea We started by sketching different designs to figure out the layout and how the parts would work together After choosing a final design we built a small scale model using cardboard wood sticks tape and tubing The purpose of the prototype was to show how the system would function rather than make it perfect While building we made changes when things did not work which helped us improve the design and work better as a team The final prototype clearly represents our idea and shows our understanding of the engineering design process

This project showed me that engineering is not just about having a good idea but about making it work in real life Once we started building we realized some things needed to change which forced us to problem solve and think on the spot Working with Edison and Jordan helped me get better at communicating ideas and splitting up work Overall this project felt realistic and gave me a better understanding of how engineers design test and improve a product instead of getting it right the first time
