OUR PROCESS
Throughout our project, we followed the design cycle steps to create our presentation. We firs thought of our issue, which we decided was concussions in high school sports. Next our group and I did research on concussion statistics, concussion symptoms, how to prevent concussions, and the effects of a concussion.
The next thing that my group and I did was brainstorm possible solutions, which we decided to make a law mandating concussion prevention equipment in most high school sports. The last thing we did was create the presentation!
CONTENT
Design cycle
Identify need- We decided that our problem was concussions in high school sports.
Research problem- As a group we found 12 articles, did 50 annotations each, and found 5 graphs.
Develop possible solutions- We thought of many solutions our most promising were softer turf, robots as referees, and customizable concussion prevention collars.
Create- Our final solution was creating a law that mandates the use of concussion prevention equipment. We then created a slideshow showing our research and the solution.
Share- We presented our slides.
Data analysis
For our data analysis each member of our group selected three articles, and did 15 annotations per article. Then we found as many graphs as possible and then annotated one. We then put our research into our presentation.
Reflection
I think two things that I did very well on was my communication and conscientious learner. The reason why I think I did well on those two is I thought I communicated very well with my group, and told them what we should do in a nice way. The reason why I think I did well in my conscientious learner is because I was always working in a timely manner and hardly procrastinated.
Two things that I think I need to work on after this project is my character and my critical thinking. Sometimes I get upset at my group, but I need to work on that so for my character to improve. I also think that I need to work on my critical thinking because sometimes I spend time and brain energy on unnecessary things.
