Throughout the intergalactic planetary unit, we made 5 models. At the start we had no information about planets and were told to draw a model of the planets. Over the unit we were told more and more about the distance and size of the planets. With that information we created model 2 and 3. For model 4 my partner and I analyzed the planets and were able to find an equation to find the orbital velocity of planets. For model 5 we filled out the front side, which we said that we were able to find the surface temperature, orbital period, season, and orbital speed. On the back we were able to figure out the orbital period of Earth, planet x, and planet y, as well as how much you would weigh on those planets.
Content
Gravitational force: The attraction between two objects of mass, which pulls them together. The equation to find the gravitational force between two objects is Fg=(M1+m2)/r^2
Orbit: The path of objects in space around a star, planet, or moon.
Radius: A straight line from the center to the circumference of the circle or sphere.
Orbital period: The amount of time it takes a celestial object to complete an orbit around another object.
Orbital velocity: The speed that an object moves in it's orbit around another object.
Distance to sun: The distance from a planet to the sun.
Atoms: The basic particles of the chemical elements.
Reflection
Two things that I think I did well was my conscientious learning and collaboration. Throughout the duration of the unit, I stayed on task, and did all the assignments as they were given. I also made sure to ask questions if I did'nt understand a topic. The reason why I think I did well on collaboration, was because I know my parter well, witch resulted in good productivity towards the projects.
Two things that I think I need to improve on is my character and communication. I think these two go hand in hand, focusing how I interact, and treat the people who I work with. Sometimes I can take my needs into consideration before their needs, which can cause me to be rude or upset.
