Physics of Sports Video

Story-Board

Video-making Process

Before we started doing anything we got to learn how to do all of the calculations for the video so that we were actually stating facts that inform the viewer. Once we got that out of the way we were able to decipher what sport we were going to make a video on and the move that we were going to perform, then we planned out the order of steps in our video so we have an idea of what we were doing.

After making our plans we put them into action. We started filming all the kicking scenes in our video and followed by stitching them together. Once I put all of the scenes together I inserted more blank clips for voice-overs and text for information.  Finally after reworking all of the video so that all the calculations were correct, it was done.

Calculations

Horizontal Velocity: 16 m/s

Vertical Velocity: 3.92 m/s

Total Velocity: 16.5 m/s

Height: 0.78 ft

Momentum: 6.12 km/s

Reflection

I think the video turned out really well in the end especially considering the troubles we faced during the project. We could have been on task more but that was more of a team-mate issue as I was working the most, but all things considered I believe that all went good.
