In America, changes to our economic system are often called radical, and by association, seem bad. This has lead to the rich getting richer, and the poor getting poorer. Without large reform to our modern system, people will continue to starve and die. In recent years this problem has been highlighted more and more, but nothing is done. This is an issue that effects everyone, even if they don't think it does.
With this piece, I wanted to give a visual representation to the problem of exploitation of labor, and income inequality. I wanted the piece to show that the people who do the most work are not the ones that benefit the most.
I wanted to have my project be split into two deliberate sections to represent division in income. I thought that the best way to achieve this would to be by using two separate color pallets. I chose to split the sections into a warm and cool section. I tried to use a largely monochromatic color selection for both sections. Another choice that I made was to make the billionaire large, not only to signify him as a threat, but also to represent the monetary difference between the workers and him. For my tech piece, I included QR codes that lead to websites that give detailed information about the issue. I did this because it is important for people to know the facts and draw their own conclusions instead of parroting other's views.
