I chose this piece as one of my favorites because it was the first piece of art that I did that incorporated shading. I think that the proportions were drawn correctly and that is what made the art more successful. While creating it, I learned both about proportions and shading. If I did it again, I would make the hand bigger and use lighter values. The finished piece takes up about half of a page, so if I did it again, I would make the drawing larger to take up more of the page, and give myself more room for small details. It is also clear that some of the lines are unrealistically dark, so I would use lighter values in those areas.
I chose this piece as my favorite because I think the perspective turned out well. It was successful because I spent a lot of time perfecting the perspective of the piece. I had never done perspective drawing before, so I learned how to properly show perspective. If I did this again, I would spend more time on the shading and details. I did not understand how to shade things when I first made this, so I did a very poor job of shading the piece. The spots that are shaded have an inconsistent value, and most of the piece is entirely unshaded. The small details also look incredibly rushed, so I would spend a lot more time making the details realistic, and giving the walls and floors texture.
This is my favorite piece because I like the colors and the message behind it. It is a successful piece because a clear message is communicated without using words. While creating it, I got much better at using ProCreate and drawing digitally. If I did it again, I would choose a consistent outline color for the bottom half of the piece. As it is, it looks dirty and unclear. I would also use the space more to add extra details.
