Our Task
The goal for this project was to create a model of an alternative energy vehicle that did not use nuclear, chemical or battery power. It needed to travel 5 meters with no help, carrying two rolls of 50 pennies, serving as passengers. We also made a slideshow to present our vehicle to the class. Our car was powered by winding back a rubber band around an axle.

Our Building Process
The first thing my group did was make a plan of what we wanted the car to look like. After that we started building and changed a lot of those things. We changed the plan for the body, the number of rubber bands, and the place for our passengers. In the end we had a vehicle that could travel 5 meters mostly consistently.
Physics Content
Spring Potential Energy- Energy stored by an object stretching or compressing. The formula is PE=1/2kx^2. The k represents the spring constant.
Gravitational Potential Energy- The energy an object has due to its position at a height or in a gravitational field. Formula is PE=mgh.
Kinetic Energy- Kinetic energy is the energy due to motion. Formula is KE=1/2mv^2.
Total Energy- The total energy of the Potential and Kinetic energies.
Thermal Energy- Thermal energy is the energy lost to heat.
Distance vs. Time- How far an object travels in relation to time. For example, our car went 5 meters in 7 seconds.
Velocity vs. Time- How fast an object goes in relation to the time it is moving.
Rotational Inertia- How difficult it is to change the rotational velocity.
Reflection
During this project there were things I could improve on and things I did well. Some things I did well was coming up with ideas for our project and collaborating. I did my best to contribute to the building and to work with my group. Things I didn't do so well was leadership, but I hope I can continue to improve on this for next project. I could also work on attitude and not getting frustrated with my group. Overall this project went okay.
